Erica Wright is originally from Wartrace, TN (pop. 400ish). She now resides in New York City where she teaches at the City University of New York, New York University's Continuing Studies Program, and the Gotham Writers Workshop. She is also the Poetry Editor at Guernica.
She received her M.F.A. in Poetry from Columbia University. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in the 2River View, Bateau, the Denver Quarterly Review, Harpur Palate, InDigest, Memorious, the Minetta Review, Pequod, Small Spiral Notebook, and on From the Fishouse. She was the winner of the 2003 Thomas Wolfe Prize in Poetry as well as a semi-finalist for the 2007 "Discovery"/The Nation Prize.
